Nemours Children’s Health Collaboration with Florida Blue Improves Patient Wellness and Health Care Affordability

Nemours Children’s Health has achieved a significant milestone in its journey toward redefining children’s health and moving to a “pay-for health” or value-based care reimbursement model. In Nemours Children’s first year of a new collaboration with Florida Blue, the state’s Blue Cross Blue Shield plan, the pediatric health system increased immunizations, preventative screenings, and wellness visits, while also reducing costs. Elementary Wellness Center Expansion
Nemours Now at All Colonial Elementary Schools | September 1, 2021
We are very pleased to announce that Colonial School District is expanding Elementary Wellness Centers to all eight Colonial elementary schools. In 2015, the first Elementary Wellness Center was opened in the state of Delaware at Eisenberg Elementary School, with The Life Health Center as the lead and Nemours in a supporting role. It later expanded to providing elementary services at Carrie Downie, Wilmington Manor, Pleasantville and New Castle elementary schools. During this time, hundreds of students have had the opportunity to access individual and group counseling services, social service provision and a variety of important medical supports at school.
Starting in fall 2021, Nemours Children’s Health will now be the exclusive provider of Colonial Elementary Wellness Center services. Colonial and Nemours are committed to providing continuity of service to students and families who have participated in Elementary Wellness Centers for the past several years. We believe that this expansion will bring this valuable service to more students and families across the community. Colonial and Nemours are committed to staffing the centers with professionals who reflect our student and family population in order to ensure cultural sensitivity. Registration forms will soon be available for all parents of elementary students to learn more about this service and register for the program.
